Here’s what Maja Salvador and Mr. M talked about after the SNL stint
Actress-dancer Maja Salvador revealed the conversation that she had with Johnny Manahan, also known as Mr. M after their Sunday Noontime Live show was discontinued.
Mr. M was the former head of Star Magic, the talent management firm of ABS-CBN that handled Maja’s career. However, when the director/talent handler did the musical variety show on TV5, the actress-dancer joined him, as well as, A-list actor Piolo Pascual.
Unexpectedly, that stint in the Kapatid network only ran for a cycle or three months. Because of that, Mr. M felt sorry that he dragged the two artists from the Kapamilya network.
On the other hand, Maja Salvador expressed that she did not regret her decision to join her ‘tatay-tatayan’ in showbiz, based on the article in PEP. She said that she can never say no to the man who handled and molded her career in showbiz.
After their show was discontinued, Maja said that she immediately contacted Mr. M. “Kinumusta ko siya kaagad, e, kasi alam ko na yun at yun ang mapi-feel niya,” the actress-dancer said.
She comforted the director with the positive outlook that they have to move on from that chapter. “Sinabi ko, ‘Mr. M, I’m okay. I’m okay. I don’t regret anything. Yung pagsama ko sa ‘yo, no… hindi ko po ire-regret yun.’ Yung pagso-sorry niya po, okay lang, okay ako,” she added.
Maja also said that what made her worry was the fact that the production staff once again became jobless. Most of the people behind the camera who worked for SNL were from ABS-CBN who were retrenched due to the franchise issue.
“Ang gusto ko lang pong i-secure natin, yung mga nawalan na naman po ulit ng trabaho. Yun yung pinaka-concern ko. Pero ako po, ‘wag niyong isipin because I’m super okay,” Maja Salvador said.
