Quezon City Continues to Implement Liquor Ban Until March 31
Quezon City government continues to implement the liquor ban until March 31, 2021 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Since last year, the coronavirus disease continues to spread in different countries all around the world including the Philippines. The virus affects millions of people worldwide and even took thousands of lives.
The COVID-19 pandemic does not only affect the public’s health but also had a negative impact to the global economy. Many business establishments have shut down and a lot of workers lost their jobs due to the effects of the pandemic.
The health crisis also prompted the Philippine government to implement distance learning system, stricter community quarantine regulations and liquor ban to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease.
On Tuesday (March 16, 2021), the Quezon City government would continue to impose the liquor ban in the city amid the surging cases of COVID-19 in Metro Manila. The measures has been extended until March 31, 2021.
A shop along Tomas Morato in Quezon City was still closed as alcoholic beverages remain prohibited. Meanwhile, the operations of gyms, spas, and internet cafes including swimming pools in village, clubhouses, or private pools used as mini-resorts remain suspended.
