Why did Rica Peralejo say “no” to this big TV project?
Celebrity Rica Peralejo revealed the reason why she turned down the offer of ABS-CBN to do the lead role in a TV series back in 2018.
Rica started her showbiz career at a young age and indeed she is one of the priced talents of the Kapamilya network. However, when she started her family life, she mellowed in doing showbiz projects.
The last TV project that she had was in 2007 for the teleserye Pangarap na Bituin while her last movie was Caregiver in 2008. From time to time, she would do small roles on TV.
However, in 2018, ABS-CBN offered her a big project. She felt overwhelmed that there were people who really came to see her to present the project as she thought that she will just be doing a supporting role.
“Hindi ko alam na big role pala iyong ino-offer sa akin! So parang ako, ‘Ah, ako ba iyan? Ako ba iyang babae na iyan?’ ‘Ah yes, kayo po iyan.’ Ah, okay! Akala ko kasi, tita ako ng bida!’ Parang ganyan. So tumatawa-tawa pa ako!” Rica Peralejo recalled what happened in an interview with PEP.
Although the offer was really good and that could set her showbiz comeback, Rica still has to consider another major plan – to have her second baby with husband Joseph Bonifacio.
After consulting the people around her and thinking about the decision she will make, Rica said, “I really chose to go for the baby because if I do the teleserye, that means I’ll have to stop trying kasi siyempre, kailangan mo matapos iyon.”
A few months after she turned down the offer, Rica Peralejo found out she was pregnant. She cried knowing that she made the right decision to turn down the lead role offer.
