Police Authorities Arrest 6 Individuals Loitering at Taal Volcano’s Main Crater
At least six individuals have been arrested by the authorities after loitering at Taal Volcano’s main crater, which is under alert level 2.
Two local tourists and a ‘bangkero’ have been arrested after sneaking into the Taal Volcano Island. The boat reportedly passed through the town of Balete together with three minors.
The offenders who came all the way from Tanauan City explained that they just wanted to see the place wherein they held their pre-nup in 2017 before heading back to Italy. The couple explained that they spent only a few minutes in the island.
However, the police authorities explained that the couple even went on Facebook live for three times at the main crater of Taal. The couple has been arrested while trying to leave the permanent danger zone.
The violators would face charges at the Batangas Provincial Prosecutor’s Office after violating the law prohibiting the entry to the protected area and disobedience charges. The accused were currently detained at the Department of Social Welfare and Development including the three minors.
