Gambler Arrested after Being Left Behind by Friends in a Gambling Raid
Police arrested a gambler during the anti-illegal gambling operation raid after being left by his comrades who are doing illegal gambling.
An unfortunate gambler was arrested after being the only one left behind when the authorities raided a group of gamblers in a deceased wake in Brgy. Pudoc East, Tagudin in the province of Ilocos Sur as early as 1:40 p.m.
According to the report, Tagudin Police identified the arrested as Romeo Barnachea Valdez, 54, single, welder, resident of Brgy. Sawat of such a town. The anti-illegal gambling operation immediately launched by members of the Tagudin Municipal Police Station in the said area,

This stemmed after they came to know that there were groups of gamblers at a funeral in the said area. When the police arrived at the scene, they immediately saw the groups of gamblers.
However, before they approached, seven of the gamblers immediately ran away and the only one left was Valdez. Police confiscated two sets of cards used by the suspects to play ‘biyaya’ as well as bet money of P2,660.
Valdez is now in the custody of Tagudin MPS while the authorities are still investigating who the seven escapees are so that they can be included in the list of those to be charged with violating PD 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Act.
