The leader of the “25 days double your money” investment scheme, identified as Junelyn Obamos Gregorio alias “Madam O” of San Jose Ville, Barangay Tiza, Roxas City, was arrested in an entrapment operation in the said city yesterday afternoon, according to a report from Panay News.

NBI-6 also confiremd that they arrested an associate of Gregorio in an entrapment operation in Roxas City, Acquiles Grecia. Another associate, identified as Arnel Gimoto, is yet to be located. The three are charged with estafa.

The capture was done peacefully, with the suspect not showing resistance. The bureau took the suspect to its office for further probe.

The arrest followed after about 30 investors in her scheme complained last month that they did not receive their money that Gregoro promised to return.

The complainants got worried and demanded their money back after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) moved against another scheme in the city, based on the report.

Gregorio failed to keep a promise to return her investors’ money by Feb. 20. She did not show up in the agreed venue.

The suspect had not been seen in the city since that day.
