Mayor Isko Moreno Supports ‘Family Day’ in Manila’s Tourist Destinations
Metro Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has expressed his support towards the proposed ‘family day’ in Manila’s tourist destinations.
On Friday (February 26, 2021), Isko Moreno backs the proposed one-day “family day” in various tourist spots in Metro Manila. The proposal would also allow young kids 15 years old and below to visit.
Moreno explained that he wants to support the tourism and to attract foreign tourists to visit the destinations in the city. He believes that the program would increase the rate of tourism in the area.
“Aprub! Of course, we want to support tourism, lalo na ngayon, domestic tourism, tayo-tayo lang ang nagpapasyalan. Wala tayong mga banyagang pumupunta rito,” Moreno said.
Previously, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat proposed the easing of age restrictions in Intramuros, which reopened to the public last February 17.
“Pangalawa (Second), if there’s an open space as an alternative for our people to go to, hinihikayat namin ‘yan, especially sa Intramuros (we encourage that), especially in Intramuros,” Moreno added.

However, the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases continues to implement the age restriction policy prohibiting children below 15 years old and those 65 years old and above to go outside.
