Chief of local police Captain Rogaciano Gara said that the victim, identified as Framil Cabrera received a gunshot wound on his head, resulting in his death while sleeping at the balcony of his residence, according to a report from the Bohol Chronicle.

He was beside his 10-year-old grandson, who was only able to get his parents to check on his grandfather in the morning after the gun incident, which prompted the family to alert the authorities.

Cabrera’s neighbor testified that he heard a gunshot at past 11 PM but disregarded the matter.

Gara added that the victim had no derogatory records and had no known enemies, based on the report.

“Ang victim is simpleng mamamayan lang sa Calituban, fisherman. Wala siyang mga previous cases dito. Walang sinabi ang iyang pamilya na may mga personal na kabangay o kaaway,”
