Pres. Duterte To Decide & Announce Quarantine Measure in PH Soon
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will announce the quarantine measure in the Philippines for March before the month of February ends.
More than 200 countries and territories across the globe have recorded cases of COVID-19. For several nations, it’s been a year now since they first logged a case of the disease and the fight continues.
The Philippines is one of the countries that recorded cases of COVID-19. The pandemic has brought a lot of changes in the country and has greatly challenged the economy of PH.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has already expressed the need to reopen the economy of the Philippines. According to DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, it cannot anymore wait for the vaccination program to start.
The entire Philippines is still under community quarantine measures now. Metro Manila is under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) amid the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the month is about to end, a lot of people await the announcement of the community quarantine measures to be implemented in March. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will decide on it by Monday, February 22, 2021.
Based on the report, the decision of Pres. Duterte on the community quarantine measure to be implemented in PH this March will be announced before the month of February ends.
The IATF and the mayors in Metro Manila already have a decision on the quarantine measure to be imposed. Roque expressed hope that the President will support the recommendation.
