Pedicab Driver Arrested for Snatching Cellphone of Fish Vendor in Malate

A man in Malate, Manila who was later identified as pedicab driver reportedly arrested after snatching a cellphone from a fish vendor.

A pedicab driver suspected of stealing a cellphone from a fishmonger was arrested Thursday. He was identified as Alfredo Miranda, 30, also a resident of San Andres, Malate, Manila.

He is said to have stolen the cellphone that was placed in the victim’s place before going to sleep. CCTV footage of Barangay 740 showed the suspect returning to the post as if he was spying.

As a result, the man was identified and arrested by the authorities. According to Barangay 740 Chairman Arturo Mariano, Jr., there have been many complaints of theft against the suspect even in neighboring barangays.

So they encourage the other victims of the suspect to contact the police. Miranda also admitted to the theft and pointed out where she sold the cellphone so it was recovered. A case of theft was filed against him.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man has been arrested by the police authorities after snatching a mobile phone in Paco, Manila. The female victim is using her mobile phone inside the jeepney together with her elder sibling when the suspect grabbed her phone along Quirino Avenue and Pedro Gil Street.

Luckily, the victim found a traffic enforcer of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau along the area and asked him for help. The enforcer immediately chased and caught the suspect who is running away from his crime.
