PAGASA – Auring Weakens Into Tropical Storm (February 19, 2021)

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that Auring has recently weakened into a tropical storm and is beginning to move westward.

The seventh severe weather bulletin issued by the state weather bureau states that as of 4 PM today, the now tropical storm Auring was last spotted at about 405 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kilometers per hour. It is moving westward at 15 kilometers per hour.

Caraga, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao del Norte will face light to moderate with at times heavy rains until tonight.

  • Surigao del Norte
  • Surigao del Sur
  • Agusan del Norte

  • Davao City

  • the western portion of Misamis Oriental
    • Balingasag
    • Balingoan
    • Binuangan
    • Claveria
    • Gingoog City
    • Jasaan
    • Kinoguitan
    • Lagonglong
    • Magsaysay
    • Medina
    • Salay
    • Sugbongcogon
    • Tagoloan
    • Talisayan
    • Villanueva
  • the western portion of Bukidnon
    • Cabanglasan
    • Impasug-ong

The bureau said that more localities in Northern Mindanao and Eastern and Central Visayas may be placed under TCWS #1. It added that it might raise TCWS #2 over Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental in the next bulletin.

It is also forecasted that tomorrow, Caraga, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao del Norte will face moderate to heavy with at times intense rains while Eastern and Central Visayas, the rest of Northern Mindanao, Lanao del Sur, Cotabato, and Davao City will face light to moderate with at times heavy rains.
