Lea Salonga did not answer questions about P-pop
Award-winning theater actress Lea Salonga answered netizens’ questions about K-pop group BTS but she was mum on P-pop.
K-pop or Korean pop has penetrated the music industry internationally. Fans of this genre of music scatter from different parts of the globe.
Lea is a self-confessed BTS fan. In her social media posts, she would share her thoughts on the songs of the popular South Korean idols. In a previous article, she revealed the reason why she became a fan of BTS.
The Pinay artist who is known for making sure that her every performance falls under the category of “perfect” saw the same attitude in BTS members. She praises their professionalism and “refusal to settle for mediocrity.”
As a counterpart of K-pop, in the Philippines, the P-pop was created or the Pinoy pop.
Just recently, Lea Salonga held #AskMissLea on her Twitter account. Many netizens asked her about BTS and she candidly answered them, based on the article in The Philippine Star. She even answered tweets about Ian Veneracion.
Here are some of the answers of the Broadway star to the questions of netizens.
On the other hand, Lea Salonga has no reply to netizens who asked about P-pop mentioning the the groups such as SB19 and BGYO.
One netizen said that Lea should support local products and encouraged her to listen also to SB19’s songs.
Another netizen replied to this saying, “Wag na natin ipagpilitan kung ayaw nung tao. Di tayo namamalimos. Certified A’tin ako. Go up era. Pero ayoko maging pathetic. We cannot please everyone.”
