Drug Suspect Using Drugs Against COVID-19 Nabbed in Biñan, Laguna
LAGUNA – A drug suspect who claims to use Maryjane to fight against COVID-19 was recently arrested in Biñan City, Laguna.
According to a report from GMA News’ Balitambayan, retrieved from the suspect, identified as Alaric Bay De Guzman Monsod, were five kilos of Maryjane, which is worth P600,000.
Monsod denied claims that he was a drug pusher, but admitted that he uses the said plant drug to fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) despite no clear evidence that the drug can cure the said disease.
There are, however, studies that claim that Maryjane could increase chances of pneumonia or respiratory-related diseases, based on the report.
