The yellow rainfall warning was raised by the weather bureau at 5:45 AM over the northern and central portions of Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Iloilo, Capiz, Antique, and parts of Aklan.

The bureau also warned that there will be flooding and landslides, especially in areas that are prone to these hazards, according to a report from GMA News.

The heavy rainfall is due to the trough or extension of a Low Pressure Area, which is forecast to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region.

The bureau also urged residents and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned to take appropriate actions, monitor the weather condition, and await the next advisory, which is set to be issued at 8 AM, based on the report.

As of 3 AM, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was last spotted at about 580 km East of Davao City, while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will be affecting Northern Luzon on this day.

As previously reported, for the wind and coastal water condition forecast says that Northern and eastern section of the country will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast direction, while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast direction, while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
