According to a report from ABS-CBN News, operatives from the Philippine National Police Anti Kidnapping Group (PNP=AKG) arrested the suspect, identfied as Arnold Gastador Vargas in Ayala Alabang in the said city.

Vargas was wanted for kidnap for ransom and serious illegal detention way back in 2017.

Authorities have reported that Vargas was involved in kidnapping an Indian national, identified as Anail Kumar Sohal in Brgy. San Antonio, Binan City, Laguna in August 2017.

The kidnappers asked for P20 million in return for the freedom of the Indian national. However, the latter’s family negotiated the kidnappers to lower the ransom money to P935,000 and meet at SLEX.

The meet-up resulted in a clash between the kidnappers and policemen, which resulted in the deaths of most of the suspects.

Vargas was the only one who was able to escape until he recently got caught in the city. The suspect is currently imprisoned at the AKG lockup jail, based on the report.
