Statement of Catholic Church on the COVID-19 Vaccination
CATHOLIC CHURCH – The Roman Catholic church expressed support on the widespread vaccination against COVID-19 disease.
The Philippines is one of the over 200 countries and territories that recorded cases of COVID-19. This coronavirus disease has shaken a lot of healthcare systems across the globe.
In PH, the COVID-19 pandemic brought a lot of changes in the country. The face-to-face classes have yet to return as there are still threats of the disease. Students learn through modules and online classes.
Also, it is now a protocol that everyone must wear a face mask and practice social distancing when going outdoors. Community quarantine measures are still up in the country.

Meanwhile, a lot of people are taking relief now that COVID-19 vaccines have been developed. Undeniably, there are also those who are still confused about getting the vaccine as they worry about their safety.
On the part of the Catholic Church, the church supports the widespread vaccination against COVID-19. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Archbishop Broderick Pabillo have talked about the church lending the government some of its areas for the vaccination process.
“Ang Simbahan po, may mga spaces kami may mga lugar sa Simbahan, sa mga gym, sa tabi ng school na pwedeng gamitin po sa vaccination,” Bishop Pabillo said.
Based on the report, the Catholic Church is just waiting for an update from the Manila LGU on the barangays that need areas for the vaccination against COVID-19.
Reportedly, the same conversation may also take place in other cities covered by the Archdiocese. Meanwhile, the Church supports the vaccination against COVID-19 but understands that it is still the decision of every individual.
