TESDA Encourages Returning OFWs To Take Agriculture Online Courses

ONLINE COURSES – TESDA advised the returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to take online courses in agriculture.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) advised the returning OFW to take agri courses online because tourism became the most in demand course among Pinoy workers working abroad.

TESDA Director General Isidro Lapeña said that agricultural skills would be a big help especially during this time of pandemic although tourism courses are the most in demand courses in the Philippines.

“However, we can also take the courses under the agriculture sector so we can ensure that more of us will know how to produce our own food for our families and loved ones,” Lapeña said.

Lapeña said that OFWs can enhance their agriculture-related skills by becoming agri-preneurs. Agri-fishery courses are also available both online and face-to-face training. The agriculture sector contains nine courses but OFW only choose Fruit Grower course.
