Here’s what Regine Velasquez revealed about some shows of ABS-CBN airing on TV5.
REGINE VELASQUEZ – Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez expressed happiness as ASAP is now in TV5 and hopeful for other programs to also be aired.
In an agreed blocktime deal, ABS-CBN Corporation and its former rival TV5 network announced partnership. Kapamilya shows “ASAP Natin ‘To” and “FPJ: Da King” will be aired in Kapatid network which started last January 24.
President and CEO of Cignal and TV5, Robert Galang, said in a statement that this event “marks the start of greater cooperation among our various industry players and begins a new era of partnership.” Up until now, the Kapamilya network is struggling after their bid for a fresh franchise has been junked.
And with the ASAP finally simulcasted in TV5, Songbird, one of the variety show’s lead, shared her happiness as they are now back in free TV through TV5. With this success, she expressed being hopeful that other shows such as “Its Showtime” will follow.
She said based on PEP, “Eventually, we’ll have Showtime, of course, hopefully. And then, eventually some of the soaps, eventually magkakaroon din ng Magandang Buhay. So, ganun.”
Also, the Songbird described that ASAP in TV5 is such a wonderful experience and they still couldn’t believe that this incident is possible. She shared, “Sobrang saya na ano, na parang, pwede palang mangyari iyon.”
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak will continue their blocktime deals but denied that the Kapamilya network and the TV5 will have a merging. Aside from TV5, they also have a blocktime or airtime partnership with A2Z channel owned evangelist Brother Eddie Villanueva.
Katigbak said they will remain committed to their partners who have helped them a lot amid the difficult time they are currently going through.
