Leni Robredo Calls Out A Blogger For Claiming She Handed Out “Anemic Spaghetti”

LENI ROBREDO – Vice President Leni Robredo belied claim that her office gave away “anemic spaghetti” to residents of San Mateo, Rizal.

Vice President Leni Robredo has done remarkable efforts to help the people amid the COVID-19 pandemic and typhoons that hit the country. She said she did that because it’s the right thing to do for her job.

Until now, her office continues its programs and initiatives to help the poor Filipinos. However, she was criticized for sharing photos of their relief efforts on social media. Netizens said she was making it look like she was exerting more effort than the government.

Leni Robredo explained that she just used those photos to provide information to the public. In an interview with One News, she said “It’s unfortunate that they are looking at it that way. Unang, una, they are very much aware… Ako, if I was spending my own money I don’t have to be very transparent about it, ‘yong accountability sa akin lan.”

Based on a report from GMA News, Leni Robredo recently launched a feeding program in San Mateo, Rizal. She proudly shared photos of her office’s relief program, distributing spaghetti to the residents.

On Saturday, the 55-year-old politician slammed the controversial pro-Duterte blogger RJ Nieto, known as “Thinking Pinoy,” for saying in his blog that she and her team allegedly hand out “anemic spaghetti” to the poor.

“Bored lang siguro trolls. Pero kokontrahin ko. Hindi anemic yung spaghetti… It’s actually very, very good… Huwag sana kayong paapekto sa trolls,” she said, clarifying that the budget used for the feeding program did not come from the Office of the Vice President and that her team merely distributed the food assistance.”

“FYI, hindi po galing sa budget namin yan?? Kami lang nag distribute. Nasa caption naman,” she added.

According to the report, Leni Robredo also corrected him saying her OVP was allocated a budget of “over P700 million” for 2021. She said the senate increased their budget because they are spending it efficiently.

“[H]indi na 700M budget namin for 2021. 900M na???? Tinaasan ng Senate dahil sa maayos na paggastos,” she said.

In response, the blogger said P900M is still considered “over P700 million.” He said Leni could have pitched it from OVP’s funds.
