LENI ROBREDO – Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo has this statement and answer when asked about her plans for the 2022 elections.
In time of the pandemic and following the three consecutive typhoons that hit the country, Vice President Leni Robredo has left remarkable effort to reach out and help the people in need. All of those things she did because she felt that those were the right things to do for her job.
In recent speech of President Rodrigo Duterte, he attacked her for an amount of time spewing threats against her. This is because of all the things reported to him that the vice president allegedly did and accusing her of things such as giving orders to the military to send her donations breaking the chain of command.
Robredo called out those persons who brought the fake news to the president which caused his wrath against her. Aside from that, he also discouraged her to run for president. But in her recent interview, she was asked about her plans for the presidential elections in 2022. Is she planning to run for presidency?
Robredo dodged the question by answering that amid the pandemic and the country still reeling from the aftermath of the typhoons, she think that it is not the right time yet to share her plans. Moreover, she believes that the election is still far and a lot of things can still happen in a span of over a year.
She said in an interview with Pia Hontiveros of CNN Philippines , “Ang presidential election is far away. Dalawang taon pa. And history would tell us ang daming puwedeng mangyari sa isang taon. Hindi nga natin alam kung kakandidato pa ako.”
