Village Chair Accused Of Murder Nabbed In Sumisip Town, Basilan
SUMISIP TOWN – A barangay chairman who is accused of murder was recently arrested in Sumisip town in Basilan province.
The Philippine National Police (PNP)Â identified the suspect as Jamiron Ajijon, who is also known as Jamirun Amigos, the chairperson of Barangay Marang.
He was nabbed based on the warrant of arrest for murder, which was issued by Regional Trial Court 9th Judicial Region Branch 1, Isabela City, Basilan presiding judge Honorable Leo Jay Principe.
Ajijon was the prime suspect in the killing of businessman Roberto Musablin in 2004 in Barangay Manaul.
The suspect was also allegedly linked to Abu Sayyaf leaders that were based in Basilan, among them includes Furuji Indama, Pasil Bayali and Radzmill Jannatul. Retrieved from the suspect were an M-16 rifle and a caliber .45 pistol.
Based on the report, Ajijon was the leader of the “city hunter” gun-for-hire syndicate who were allegedly involved in the kidnapping incidents in Basilan.
The cops also arrested a Bassel Ajijon Eting in the same operation for illegal possession of one M-16 rifle.
They were brought to the Anti-Kidnapping Group Mindanao Field Office in Batalla, Zamboanga City, for documentation and investigation.
