The birthday bash hosted by Yap was held at the grounds of Camp John Hay Manor. It was him and 30 of his friends in the venue not following the social distancing rule and not wearing any protection such as face mask and face shield.
The Filipino entertainment personality apologized saying there’s “no excuse for not wearing your masks” and it was not his intention to endanger anyone. Meanwhile, he maintained that all of his guests tested negative before the party happened. Also, it is one of the requirements before entering Baguio, a negative result.

Investigation about the party has begun as per the Department of Tourism Cordillera Administrative Region office. In a social media post, someone called out Yap as there were allegations that there were attendees who got infected and they were just mum about it.
Yap denied it and replied, “The tea is fake news. I hope you don’t base your truth thru an anonymous post. Everyone in the group is negative. That is fact.”

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong was also spotted at the party and is now under hot waters. National Task Force Against COVID-19 spokesperson Restituto Padilla said that this incident is subject to penalties based on local ordinances.
He admitted his violation indicating that they just got carried away and enjoyed the party. This gathering that actually happened last January 17 enraged many people online and the residents of Baguio City.
