Baguio Mayor Magalong May Face Charges After Attending Viral Party of Tim Yap
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong may face charges after attending the birthday party of social media star Tim Yap that drew flak online.
According to National Task Force Against COVID-19 spokesperson Restituto Padilla, the gathering is subject to penalties based on local ordinances. The Manor is also explained for its violation of the COVID-19 protocols.
Based on the previous article, Baguio City Mayor and the contact tracing czar Magalong admitted that he attended the viral party as he is invited. According to him, before the party, Yap and his group visited Baguio’s art exhibit and bought a lot of paintings.

Mayor Magalong clarified that invited celebrities and attendees were wearing masks but took these off as they dined, which the cultural dancers performed, and asked the guests to join them afterward.
Tim Yap’s birthday party at The Manor at Camp John Hay on January 17 drew flak online after videos circulating on social media showed attendees who were caught not observing physical distancing.
Yap air his side clarifying the alleged protocol violation. He said that he and his group “really followed all the LGU (local government unit) protocols” and tested negative for the coronavirus before they traveled to Baguio.
