Here’s what Harry Roque said about the “clown” remark of Vice Ganda
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque shared his reaction to the viral “clown” remark of comedian-host Vice Ganda.
This issue started when Vice tweeted about having a choice in choosing laundry soap and so why people have no choice when it comes to the vaccine. Apparently, this was the comedian’s answer to the statement of Roque about not being “choosy”.
After this, the Presidential Spokesperson said that people should listen to experts and not to comedians like Vice Ganda.
In a recent vlog of actress Aiko Melendez, she guested Harry Roque and one of the questions she asked was about Vice Ganda. The Secretary explained that he just answered the tweet of the comedian and pointed out that the approval from the experts and people who have the authority over the COVID-19 vaccine must be honored.
Then, Aiko asked what was his reaction to the “patutsada” of Vice. “Ako, hindi ako clown, I’m a comedian at may kilala akong clown,” the It’s Showtime host and pointed his finger to the camera. He even reiterated, “I’m the comedian, you are the clown.“
Apparently, this was easy for the online community to conclude that he was referring to the Presidential Spokesperson even though he did not mention any name.
With this, Harry Roque said, “I love clowns.” He even said that he loves Charlie Chaplin and Marcel Marceau whose stage persona was “Bip the Clown.”
For the Secretary, it is a form of poetry as characters like this are being wanted to smile but “amidst the tragedies of life”. Then, he said that he is thankful to be compared to clowns.
