Elderly Street Vendor Goes Viral After Netizen Call for Help Online

A concerned netizen call the attention of online community to help elderly street vendor selling candy earned donations from kind netizens.

On Facebook, a concerned netizen named Kym Manalaysay posted some photos of an elderly man selling his candies produce by himself. Kym appeal to public if they could buy some of his candies when spotted the old man.

Kym stressed that he could have just been at home resting and enjoying the life of his old age. The elderly man was identified as Jacinto, still on the sidewalk despite his illness to provide for the need and the maintenance medicine he buys.

“Please buy kayo, kapag nadaan kayo malaking tulong ‘yung P20 kay tatay para sa pang-araw-araw na need niya. ‘Di natin need maging mayaman to help. Matanda na si tatay pero nagsisikap pa ring magtinda para sa ikakabuhay ng pamilya. Please support him,” Kym said to his post.

According to him, Tatay Jacinto sells his candies from Monday to Sunday, from 9 am to 11 am. Then at the same time, he rests because he is diabetic and will sell again from 3 pm to 5 pm in the afternoon.

According to one netizen who commented on the post, they knew Lolo Jacinto, the old man was really very hardworking. He said that he also has children with him, but the reason why he is still working is that he does not want to be a burden to his children.
