Technology Expert Advises Parents Regarding Unauthorized Purchase Online Involving Kids
A technology expert gives advice to the parents whose kids accidentally ordered products and spend cash online.
Over the past few months, a lot of people have experienced unauthorized purchase at various online shopping platform. Most of the unauthorized purchase incidents involved young children.
A technology editor of Manila Bulletin named Art Samaniego shared some tips and give advice to parents regarding the increasing incidents of unauthorized online transactions involving young children.
Samaniego advised the Filipino people to avoid linking our credit cards or debit cards to play store or other online stores. He also told the parents to require the authentication for all purchases.
“Ifa-flash na screen na ‘require authentication for all purchases.’ ‘Pag nag-no ka, ina-allow mo na may authentication. Kaya kahit anong bili nila nakacharge na sa card na nakalink. Pag nag-order sila, dire-diretso na iyon. Checkout, payment. ‘Pag ‘pay’, automatic na ikakarga ‘yon sa account mo,” Samaniego said.
The technology expert also instructed the public to activate the “parental controls” in all mobile devices to limit their children from unauthorized purchase and spending cash in downloading mobile applications or games.
