Paolo Ballesteros Shares His Father Restricted Him to Be a Commercial Model
Kapuso actor and TV host Paolo Ballesteros shared that his strict father once restricted him to be a commercial model.
The Eat Bulaga Dabarkads Paolo Ballesteros shared that his father doesn’t support him to be a commercial model. Paolo has a gimmick when he auditions for a TV ad and this is what he always does so that people who are looking for talent recognize him.
In the latest episode of “Bawal Judgmental” of “Eat Bulaga” Paolo first rested as a host to be one of the choices to face celebrity judge Ivan Mayrina. One of the questions is which of the artists first started as commercial models before becoming famous in showbiz.
Paolo’s story, he was 18 years old when he started map-VTR for TV commercials. It is said that his aunt and cousin of his aunt Eula Valdes convinced him to audition.
“Sabi niya sa akin, ‘bakit hindi ka mag-commercial?’ E, siyempre, hindi ko naman alam kung paano tapos no’ng nag-college na ko, kinontak ko siya sinabi kong gusto ko na mag-commercial,” the award-winning actor said.

That is why she left Manila from their province to try her luck in becoming a commercial model. Then he mentioned that he was really acting when he auditioned so that his name would be stamped on the caster.
“Dinadaan ko na lang sa akting-akting kasi nga alam ko na ‘yung process na dadaanan lang ‘yun ng mga caster. Kapag hindi memorable ‘yung ginawa mo, siyempre, dadaanan ka lang. Pero kapag memorable ‘yung ginawa mo, hihinto sila, ‘anong ginawa n’on?” Paolo shared.
Paolo also believes that he is also lucky to get a TV commercial. He even said that there was a chance that he auditioned for a TV commercial of fast food and a cookie brand at the same time and he did not think that he was both accepted here.
Meanwhile, Paolo admitted that his father was not in favor of him being a commercial model. He said he wanted to concentrate on studying and graduate as soon as possible.
“Sabi ni Papa, kung itutuloy mo ‘yan, ikaw bahala sa buhay mo. Parang ‘di niya ko susustentuhan so parang naging self-supporting ako,” he explained.
