Occupants of Room 2207 including basketball player Justin Rieta went back to NBI
Basketball Player Justin Rieta, together with his companions who occupied Room 2207 of City Garden Grand Hotel on New Year’s Eve, underwent a lie detector test or polygraph test.
This is in line with the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera on January 1 who occupied Room 2209 with her friends. The CCTV footage showed that she went to Room 2207.
However, in an interview when Justin and his 11 companions first went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on January 13, he said that he did not know anyone from the other room.
On January 15, basketball player Justin Rieta with other “persons of interest” went back to NBI to undergo a lie detector test. They previously expressed their willingness to cooperate with the investigation.
In a now-deleted social media post of Kapuso journalist Arnold Clavio, he showed the message that Justin Rieta sent him. “Wala kong idea di ko siya kilala actually pero hirap lang sya huminga. So inalagaan ko sya kanina. Then umuwi ata kami 6 or 7. 8 ata or 7. Yun nga nabalitaan ko,” the message from the basketball player said.
The appearance of Justin created controversy to the statement of Valentine Rosales, one of the gay friends of Christine Dacera, who earlier said that the people in Room 2207 were older and gays also.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Valentine apologized for what he has previously said about the people in the other room.
“I don’t want to confirm anything, pero I remembered Tin telling to me na there’s someone handsome in 2207, one guy. I actually looked at him, he doesn’t look straight. Kasi sometimes if you see someone, hindi mo naman malalaman kung straight or not,” he also said during the interview with the King of Talk.
