Basketball Player In Room 2207 Went To NBI For Christine Dacera Case

Will the basketball player in Room 2207 shed light on the Christine Dacera Case?

Justin Rieta, the basketball player in Room 2207 in the City Garden Grand Hotel, finally went to the National Bureau of Investigation to give his statement regarding the Christine Dacera Case.

Christine and her friends occupied Room 2209 on December 31, 2020, and on January 1, 2021, she was found dead inside the bathtub. Her death became a controversial issue since the Makati City Police initially stated that it was a “rape-slay case”.

Friends of Christine during that New Year’s Eve defended and said that they are gay but the authorities answered back abuse can still be done by gays, especially when they are under the influence of alcohol.

When the NBI entered the scenario and took over the investigation, it was stated that the pieces of evidence are “hilaw” to establish that there was “rape”. On the other hand, Sharon Dacera, the mother of Christine, still insisted that her daughter was violated.

Although the suspects already gave their sworn statement, there are still angles that are not clear as more people were seen who interacted with Christine during their party.

In a recent report from GMA News, the basketball player in 2207 has finally identified himself. Justine Rieta along with his legal counsel went to NBI to give his statement.

“Hindi ko po kilala yung kabilang room [Room 2209]. Wala po akong kilala sa kanila,” Justin said. He added that for him, there was nothing suspicious during that night.

The basketball player also expressed his willingness to cooperate with the authorities in order to shed light on the Christine Dacera case. Justin went to NBI along with the other 11 occupants of Room 2207.

Based on the article from PEP, the appearance of Justin will add doubt to the credibility of the previous statements of Rommel Galido at Valentine Rosales. They said that the Room 2207 occupants were also gays.
