High-value Target Barangay Chairman Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation Leyte

Barangay chairman in Leyte who was tagged high-value target by the authorities arrested in a drug buy-bust operation.

According to the report of Inquirer, the village chairman was identified as Marcial Lacabe, 49, who was an alleged member of the drug ring operated by a confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa.

Lacabe was arrested without any resistance. He was considered a “high-value target” by the authorities. Police seized nine heat-sealed transparent sachet of illegal drugs “shabu” during the operation.

Based on the report, the chairman was now detained at the municipal detention facility. He was charged with illegal possession and selling of illegal drugs, a non-bailable offense.

Meanwhile, the tough-talking President Rodrigo Duterte said that these lawless elements deserved to doused with gasoline and set on fire as he defended his campaign against illegal drugs and criminality.

The president also stressed his determination to kill those who are destroying his country as he pointed out human rights groups who are against his drug war campaign.
