Davao City Government Extended the Liquor Ban and Curfew Until End of January
DAVAO CITY- Local government has extended the quarantine protocols such as liquor ban and curfew hours until the end of January.
City Mayor Sara Duterte has signed Executive Order No. 55-B that provides guidelines to extend the 9 p.m to 4 a.m curfew in the City last week. Also, she signed Executive Order No. 59 reimposing the 24-hour liquor ban.
According to the report of ABS-CBN New, Inday Sara previously implemented the 24-hour liquor ban in the city to prevent people from exposure to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) during the drinking sessions.
As Davao City reverted the community quarantine to GCQ (General Community Quarantine), the curfew was also reimplemented. Davao City was among the top areas in the country that reported high daily numbers of COVID-19 cases last December.

Meanwhile, Mayor Sara warned restaurants, miscellaneous stores, and similar establishments of “one-strike rules,” in which a store would be immediately shut down immediately if they were found violating the alcohol ban.
Aside from that, she also regulated mass gatherings and prohibited non-essential travel within the city until June 30, 2021, to lower the risk of virus transmission. These guidelines are under EO No. 69.
The law also mandates adherence to basic health care in public places such as wearing face masks, physically distanced at least one meter between all individuals, and frequent hand washing. Proper wearing of face shields is also encouraged.
