Family Of Police Who Died in a Shootout in Caloocan Resentful to Public Judgment

The grieving family of the police who was killed in the shootout in Caloocan air resentment to the public over judgmental remarks against Policemen.

Recently, PCPL Dexter Teves was killed by two drug suspects apprehended at a checkpoint. Based on the report of ABS-CBN News, Teves conducted an Oplan Sita in front of Police Sub-Station 7 in Barangay 167.

They apprehended 2 men riding a motorcycle. It is alleged that the men were found to be illegal drugs so there was a commotion. The driver of the motorbike allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the policemen.

According to the Caloocan City Police, Teves was hit twice in the chest while his co-police was hit in the leg. The suspect, identified as Macoy Toreda, was also shot and later killed. The rider fled but was also chased.

The policeman who was shot is already in the funeral home. Led Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz, district director of the Northern Police District, showing support on the first night of Teves.

NCRPO chief Police Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao extended financial assistance to the Teves family and ensured educational assistance for Dexter’s two orphaned children.
