Drug Suspect Killed During Buy-Bust Operation In Laguna

LAGUNA – A drug suspect was recently killed during a buy-bust operation that was conducted in Sta. Rosa town, Laguna.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the police raided the residence of the suspect, identified under the alias Astig in Barangay Caingin. During the operation, he was transacting with a poseur-buyer.

The police reported that Astig suspected that he was transacting with a policeman, which prompted him to pull out his firarm and opened fire.

This resulted in a gunfight between him and he cops, which ended up with the death of the suspect. Recovered from Astig was the caliber .38 firearm, which the latter owned, based on the report.

Earlier this week, in Zamboanga Sibugay, cops seized illegal drugs which are worth P6.8 Million.

Operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group, Imelda Municipal Police Station and 1st Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Lumbog, Imelda town at 2:15 PM. This resulted in the arrest of three suspects.

Retrieved from the three were was a black plastic bag containing 18 pack of suspected illegal drugs that weighed about a kilo with an estimated market value of P6.8 million; and a bag containing a bundle of boodle money.
