Bato Dela Rosa On “Culture of Impunity” In PNP: “Kalokohan ‘yan.”

Following controversial abuses of cops caught on camera, Senator Bato Dela Rosa dismissed it by saying “kalokohan yan”.

BATO DELA ROSA – Former Philippine National Police chief Bato Dela Rosa says that “culture of impunity” in the organization is just a foolishness created by the opposition.

Following the fatal shooting involving Police Senior Master Sgt. Jonel Nuezca and Sonya and Frank Gregorio, people condemned abusive police officers. Nuezca is just among the cops recorded to abuse his power and capacity as a police officer.

The incident earned public condemnation and Nuezca surrendered to the authority shortly after the shooting. In the incident is his young daughter who witnessed it all and who eventually became known for her statement, ‘My Father is a Policeman’.

He expressed his regrets for what he has done and reasoned out that he got carried away by the strong emotions he felt that moment amid the heated argument versus the killed victims. He was charged with double murder and detained in the Paniqui police detention cell.

With all these that happened, Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Saturday, who is a former Philippine National Police chief, slammed the allegation of culture of impunity in the Philippine National Police. He accused the opposition of creating such thoughts and ideas to accordingly sow anger towards the president.

“Kung totoo ‘yan na may impunity bakit umabot nang 93 percent ang approval rating ng pangulo? Kalokohan ‘yan,” said Dela Rosa who also headed the controversial and widely criticized anti-drug campaign of the present administration.

Moreover, he furthered that if there’s really a culture of impunity, police who gets killed in operations should also be considered as such. He asked during a public press briefing, “Kasi nga mayroon bang presidente, chief of PNP, regional director… Mayroon bang chief of police or to the lowest level of command ng PNP na nagsasabi na patayin natin ang mga suspek? Mayroon ba? Wala naman.”
