PNP Chief Sinas Issues Apology to Gregorio Family & Assures Their Safety
PNP chief Sinas has apologized to the Gregorio family over the shooting incident happened involving a policeman in Tarlac province.
On Thursday (December 24, 2020), the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas has issued an apology to the family of shooting victims Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank Anthony Gregorio.
The police executive visited Gregorio’s residence and condole with the family. He also gives an update regarding the progress of criminal charges filed against the suspect policeman Jonel Nuezca.
During the visit, Sinas apologized to the family because of the incident and explained that the police authorities would not tolerate the cop’s action. He also assured the security and safety of the family.
“Una, pumunta po ako doon para makiramay po, at of course manghingi po ng sorry ng nangyari sa kanila, pangalawa po ay [para] i-update po sila ng progress ng investigation at para malaman nila na ang PNP po, ako na lalo, ay hindi po kami nagtotolerate sa ginawa ni Staff Sergeant Nuezca,” Sinas said.
Sinas told Florentino Gregorio, Sonya’s husband that PNP is on their side. He also assured that family that no settlement would happen and Nuezca would dismissed from his post.
