PALAWAN TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS – Amid the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), here’s are the requirements to travel to Palawan.
Restricted travel has been implemented during the height of the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Famous tourist spots and destinations temporarily closed down but for the past couple of months, they finally got the permission to re-open their doors again.
Some beaches and resorts opened again and this is one way for them to recover after months of being close. In a new normal set up, health and safety protocols are still strictly implemented.
And now, in order to step foot in the hailed as “Best Island in the World” by Travel + Leisure, here are some things to note and follow:
- El Nido, Coron, and San Vicente in Palawan just started accepting guests coming from Metro Manila and other provinces.
- Guests must present a negative result of the RT-PCR test within 24 hours for San Vicente and 48 to 72 hours for El Nido and Coron before their arrival there.
- Tourists must book at hotels and hostels accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
- People on their way to El Nido must secure first a QR-coded tourist ID from guest.elnidotourism.ph and a pre-arranged tour with a tour operator accredited by DOT.
- People on their way to Coron are required to have roundtrip tickets and pre-booked tour with a DOT-accredited tour agencies. Also, they must fill-up the health declaration form on corontourism.ph online.
- To San Vicente, tourists must also have a negative test result and on their official website are other guidelines to travel to their town.
