GCQ Guidelines: Shopping Rules, Travel Authority, and Others

Several areas have eased their lock downs and here are some GCQ guidelines they should remember.

GCQ GUIDELINES – Davao City, 3 other regions in Luzon, Pangasinan, and Albay are now under general community quarantine and here’s what they should know.

Metro Manila, Davao City, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Pangasinan, and Albay are the areas which have shifted to general community quarantine (GCQ) starting June 1, Monday, until June 15. President Rodrigo Duterte approved the downgrading after his meeting with the officials of Inter-agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) last Thursday night, May 28.

Now, here are some guidelines in GCQ that people should always remember:

  • Quarantine passes are no longer required.
  • Workers no longer need travel authority, they will just need to show their company identification cards in checkpoints.
  • Travel pass is still needed to cross provincial borders.
    • Requirements for travel authority issuance:
      • Barangay certification to ensure that the person doesn’t have the symptoms 14 days before the travel request.
      • Medical clearance from the city or municipal health office.
  • Checkpoints and curfews are still enforced.
  • People are encouraged to do grocery, buy foods, and other basic needs in stores located within their communities.
  • Public transportation are allowed to operate in limited capacity.
  • Barbershops and salons will operate at 30% capacity starting June 7. Pedicure, manicure, body massage, eyebrow waxing and others are still prohibited.

Meanwhile, as these areas are now under GCQ and the rest have implemented more relaxed modified GCQ, the government is still encouraging the people to stay at home as much as possible and only go out if necessary. This is for everyone’s safety and also to curve the COVID-19 infections in the country.
