Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando to Ban Caroling & Other Similar Activities in the City
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando announced that he would prohibit the traditional caroling and other Christmas related activities.
Governor Fernando has issued the Executive Order No. 42, series of 2020 with the aim to ban the traditional Christmas caroling and other similar activities in Bulacan amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Christmas, New Year parties, and other mass gatherings or similar activities will be prohibited during the holiday season. The order covers the Provincial Government of Bulacan, private companies, and other workplaces.
However, Fernando allows family reunions and gatherings within the family but the quarantine guidelines and safety protocols must be observed. Simbang Gabi and other religious activities are permitted but health protocols must be observed.
The governor explained that he does not mean to dampen the tradition of Bulakenyos during the Christmas season but to protect his constituents from the threat of COVID-19.
The measure starts last December 16, 2020 and would end on January 3, 2021.
