Relief Truck Loaded with 22 Soldiers and Relief Goods Fell Off the Cliff
A truck carrying 22 soldiers and supposed to be distributing relief goods fell into a ravine in Matnog town in Sorsogon, early Thursday morning.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Michael Brutas, investigator of the Matnog Municipal Police Station, the accident occurred at 1 a.m. in Barangay Hidhid, based on the report of ABS-CBN News.
The soldiers were from the 903rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army and were on their way to Barangay Bonot to distribute relief goods to the victims of previous typhoons.

The truck allegedly lost its brakes and continued to fall into a ravine. Based on the report, the cliff has about fifteen meters deep.
Soldiers were immediately rushed to the hospital, all of whom sustained minor injuries. The Philippine Army spokesman in Bicol initially declined to give an official statement while the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
