MGen. Debold Sinas to Look Into “Arresto Aguinaldo” Prank of Cebu City Police

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief MGen. Debold Sinas said he will investigate “arresto aguinaldo” prank of Cebu City police.

Sinas said in an interview with CNN, he will conduct an investigation on the controversial “arresto aguinaldo” prank made by the policemen in Cebu City. According to him, the prank allegedly causes anxiety and stressed out its “victims.”

“I have no actual knowledge po doon so maybe I will talk to the in-charge po doon at alamin how it [prank] was carried out, kung ano intention ng program. Baka kasi they want to impress people,” said Sinas.

He added that the prank may just be an initiative of the lower units because its not in the regular directive. Sinas will look into it first to find out whether it is good or bad. If good he will support the said prank but if not, he will immediately stop it.

“I could not say… kasi wala naman iyan sa regular directive baka initiative lang ng lower units natin. Titignan ko muna ma’am. Maybe if it’s good, then we would support but if it already caused anxiety sa mga publiko at sa kababayan natin, I will direct them to stop such practices po,” Sinas added.
