Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Asks Gov’t Workers Not to Hold Christmas Parties in Private Houses

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio asked the government workers not to hold Christmas parties in private residences.

The presidential daughter Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio has reminded the government employees in the city not to hold Christmas parties in public. She made the announcement in compliance with the health protocols.

The Davao City made her statement after learning that some government personnel were planning to hold Christmas parties in private during the Yuletide season amid the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.

 “We will remind our national government offices, we strongly encourage not to conduct parties,” Sara said.

The 42-year-old politician explained that those activities could not only put the government employees’ health at risk but also the lives of their respective families. She also cited the order that mass gatherings amid COVID-19 pandemic remains prohibited.

“We discourage Christmas parties, even if we did not make an order on that but it is already obvious since we do not allow mass gathering,” the younger Duterte added.

Anyone who will be caught violating the quarantine guidelines and safety protocols would face corresponding sanctions and penalties.
