These celebrities have experienced being slapped by Maricel Soriano
Diamond Star Maricel Soriano has slapped these celebrities who shared the stories of how it was like having experienced it.
Maricel, as an award-winning actress, is indeed one of the most-admired personalities in the Philippines. Throughout the years, she has done countless remarkable projects that strengthen the value of her moniker, the “Diamond Star”.
Aside from her superb acting, some of her co-stars also witnessed or experienced her iconic slap. Based on the article from the site of Star Cinema, these celebrities shared their experience of being slapped by Maricel Soriano.
In February 2019, Vice Ganda shared this in an episode of Magandang Buhay. He and Maricel worked together in the movie Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy in 2013.
“Pagkatapos, hagulgol talaga ako. Sobrang hagulgol ko, akala nila dahil sa eksena, pero nasasaktan ako talaga.”
Jolina Magdangal also shared her slapping experience courtesy of the Diamond Star as they worked together in the movie Kung Ayaw Mo Huwag Mo (1998).
“Totoo palang masakit siyang manampal. Pero okay na okay lang. Talagang ninamnam ko ‘yung sampal niya sa akin.”
In the movie Minsan Lamang Magmamahal (1997), Gladys Reyes experienced the iconic “sampal” of the Diamond Star.
“I remember shooting this movie, that ‘sampal scene’ with her, first time nayanig ang pagkatao ko sa lakas ng sampal niya. [After that] she hugged me so tight and even gave me pointers on acting.”
For Carla Abellana, she did not just experience one slap but four. It is because they had to retake the scene in Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow (2011)
“Masakit ‘yun kasi totoo. But na-anticipate ko naman. Pero inulit pa ‘yung take, so bale four times niya akong nasampal. But she hugged me agad at nag-sorry siya sa akin. I told her okay lang ‘yun at nagpasalamat pa ako sa kanya.”
Dingdong Dantes also felt surprised at first when they did the Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real (2014) but the next slaps were expected but still abrupt.
“Nagulat ako noong una, pero ‘yung [mga] sumunod, hindi na. Pero alam ko naman na darating, so the surprise wasn’t abrupt.”
Lovie Poe also described the iconic “sampal” of the Diamond Star as “masakit” but in a good way.
“Masakit siya, but it was a good kinda slap. Heavy, pero buo. It was like someone who knows how to slap talaga. But it’s an honor for me to receive a slap from Ms. Maricel Soriano.”
