IATF Said Kids Now Allowed To Join Staycation Under Certain Conditions
KIDS NOW ALLOWED TO JOIN STAYCATION – The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) said that minors are now allowed to join their family’s staycation but there are conditions.
We are in the holiday season now but this Christmas season may be different compared to what we had before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Philippines is one of the over 200 countries and territories that logged cases of the coronavirus disease.
The entire PH is under community quarantine measures until now. Metro Manila will remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) this December. Several other cities and provinces are also under GCQ due to high cases of the disease.

Previously, the Metro Manila mayors have decided not to allow minors in shopping malls this holiday season which is mandated by the GCQ. Despite the holidays, the health and safety is a priority so the LGUs decided to keep the ban.
With regards to family staycations, an update crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, an IATF official said that kids are now allowed to join the staycation of their families under certain conditions.
According to Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) chief Eduardo Año, those will go for a staycation must be able to present a result of a transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing. Based on the report, the family must also stay within the compound where they will have their vacation or “point to point”.
“”Pinayagan ‘yung mga bata na kasama ‘yung magulang kapag mag-staycation, pupunta sa mga tourist destination provided meron din silang PCR testing,” the DILG Secretary said.
Currently, there are 14 hotels in Metro Manila that are allowed to accept guests for a staycation and six hotels in Batangas. They can operate in 100% capacity but must abide by the protocols.
