The friendship between Ogie Diaz and Lassy Marquez
Comedian Lassy Marquez made revelations about fellow comedian Ogie Diaz as they talked about their friendship.
Being in one industry, it is quite normal for comedians to easily get along with each other, and friendships bloom. During the recent guesting of Lassy and Ogie on Magandang Buhay, they shared this aspect of their lives.
Based on the article from ABS-CBN, Ogie and Lassy were able to meet because of It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda.
“Number 1 fan ako ng mga stand-up comedians. Una si Vice, tapos sila. Nagpi-feeder sila, nagsa-sidekick sila kay Vice kaya ayon nagustuhan ko rin sila kasi ang galing ng tandem nila,” Ogie shared as he is also managing the career of the Unkabogable Star.
Lassy then revealed that he and Ogie became close when the latter started to find engagements or projects for them.
Ogie Diaz shared that it was easy for him to be friends with Lassy Marquez. “Siyempre ako rin komedyante, eh sila hindi sila corny kaya kinlos (close) ko, chinika ko sila, sila ni MC, pati si Chad. Lahat actually. Pero kami (ni Lassy) ‘yung magkasundo kasi ‘yung iba may attitude,” the comedian-talent manager said in jest.
Then, Lassy admitted that at first, he felt “takot” towards Ogie. “Ogie Diaz is Ogie Diaz, hindi ba bata ka pa lang napapanood mo na siya. Sa ‘May Minamahal’ hindi ba? Respeto, hindi ‘yung sobrang takot naman,” Lassy Marquez explained.
He added that when it comes to comedy, the talent manager has a high standard and he is one of the respected personalities in this field.
Meanwhile, amid the pandemic, the comedian friends are still communication with each other and throughout the years, they are able to nourish the bond between them.
