TV host and actor Edward Barber has surprised fans with the revelation that he is engaged to his non-showbiz girlfriend, whom he identified as Ricki.
The news surfaced after a video of Edward speaking to members of his church community circulated widely on social media. During his testimony, the actor shared how thankful he was to God for blessing him with the kind of relationship he had been praying for.
“From the last time I was here, I am now in an awesome relationship. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah! Don’t tell me that God is not real. I used to be the most single person in this place,” he said.
Edward then made the moment even more memorable by showing the congregation a photo of himself with his girlfriend on the church’s LED screen.
He explained that the relationship had progressed beyond dating and revealed that he had already asked Ricki to marry him.
“This is not the point of the sermon. I have a point for showing you all of this. This is not just my girlfriend; this is my fiancée, Ricki… I proposed to her, so she’s now my fiancée,” Edward said.
The video uploader also shared another picture in the comments, showing Edward and his fiancée together. Edward wore a white linen polo shirt while Ricki was dressed in white. She appeared to proudly display her engagement ring by raising her hand toward the camera.
Following the post, social media users identified Edward’s fiancée as Ricki Umali.
