Woman Steals P490 Bag From Ukay-Ukay in Kalibo After Posing as Customer
A woman is being sought after she allegedly took a bag worth P490 from an ukay-ukay store in Kalibo, Aklan.
The incident happened at a secondhand clothing store along Toting Reyes Street in Barangay Andagao. The woman reportedly entered the shop and acted like an ordinary customer while looking around the store.
However, CCTV footage later showed what appeared to be a different intention. In the video, the woman can be seen carefully placing the bag inside a paper bag that she was carrying. She then left the establishment without paying for the item.
The store owner said the incident came as a surprise because the woman did not look suspicious while inside the shop. She appeared well-dressed and even arrived on a motorcycle, making it difficult for the owner to think that she might take something from the store.
As of this writing, the woman has not yet been identified. The store owner has not filed a formal report with the police regarding the incident.
The CCTV footage was shared online to inform other business owners and remind them to stay alert, especially when dealing with customers who may appear harmless.
