Contractual employees in Manila to receive cash assistance
Contractual employees and job order employees of the city government of Manila are set to receive cash assistance worth P5,000.
Amid the pandemic, the local government units have initiated ways through the assistance of the national government in coping up with the crisis.
Previously, cash aids from the social amelioration program were distributed to help the financial needs of less fortunate Pinoy and those who were not able to continue their jobs due to the lockdown.
As the country is still battling against the deadly virus, some Pinoys have to cope up with the new normal and many are still suffering when it comes to the financial aspect.
With this, the local government unit of Manila, headed by Mayor Isko Moreno, will provide cash assistance for contractual workers of the city, based on the report from DZMM Teleradyo.
Stated on the City Ordinance No. 8701, P5,000 will be given the contractual employees and job order workers of the capital city of the Philippines.
The budget came from the P49.8 million that was allotted from the maintenance and other operating expenses accounts of the executive budget of Manila for 2020.
This will be given to 8000 contractual employees of the Manila city government. Mayor Isko Moreno said that the financial aspect of workers is still affected by the continued rise in the number of COVID-19 patients.
Based on the report, the record from the Manila Health Department stated that there are 22,951 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city, in which 420 are active cases, as of the writing.
