Isko Moreno Releases Statement On Shoppers Overcrowding Divisoria

Isko Moreno has this reminder to Divisoria shoppers

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno released a statement after shoppers were overcrowding Divisoria this weekend.

The said place is a popular destination for those who are seeking good buys for much cheaper prices. During the holiday season, this shopping destination for the “masa” gets even more crowded than in other months.

Based on the report from GMA News Online, the Manila Mayor appealed to the public to still follow the protocol while shopping at Divisoria. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, although businesses are slowly going back to the usual operations, health protocols are still being implemented under the new normal.

Part of the protocol is physical distancing. However, due to the fact Divisoria was overcrowded last weekend, this health measure was not observed.

In line with this, Mayor Isko Moreno reminded the shoppers not to flack in the said shopping area. “Ang pakiusap namin, ‘wag kayong magsisiksikan,” he said as he understands that affordable items can be found in Divisoria.

“Baka gusto niyo makatipid, pero nagpabaya naman kayo, milyon po ang gagastusin niyo pag kayo nagka-COVID, milyun-milyon, at di pa tiyak kung kayo ay maliligtas,” the mayor said.

The public official also reminded the people about what is important amid this occurring crisis in the country. “Kaya importante ang malasakit sa kapwa, malasakit sa sarili at disiplina. Yun ang aking panawagan,” Yorme Isko said.

Meanwhile, in a previous report, Mayor Isko Moreno expressed that he is ready to give P100,000 to the area that will have no record of COVID-19 infection starting from December 1 to January 31 next year. Apparently, this will prompt people to be extra careful.
