Annually, the Department of Labor and Employment or more commonly called as DOLE releases guidelines regarding the 13th month pay. It is pursuant to the Article 5 of the Labor Code of the Philippines.

For the 13th month pay 2020, here is the qualification set by DOLE upon certain conditions. Those who may be granted with the 13th month pay are…

“Rank-and-file employees in the private sector shall be entitled to 13th month pay regardless of their position, designation, or employment status, and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid, provided that they have worked for at least one (1) month during the calendar year.”

According to DOLE, the 13th month pay must be released by the employers on or before December 24, 2020. The Department clarified in its release that no exemption from the giving of the 13th month pay will be accepted or allowed.
