Traffic Enforcer Arrested During Entrapment Operation in Makati City Over Alleged Extortion
A corrupt traffic enforcer has been arrested after allegedly caught extorting money from a motorist during an entrapment operation in Makati City.
The 46-year-old traffic enforcer identified as Roberto Hojas has been nabbed by the police authorities over alleged extortion. He was arrested after allegedly extorting money from a motorist along Buendia Avenue.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said that the Public safety department received a complaint against Hojas for extorting money along Buendia Avenue. The police personnel conduct an entrapment operation.
A police officer pretend as a motorist along the area but the traffic personnel apprehended him over alleged violation “no right turn” in Malugay Street. The enforcer threatened to issue a violation ticket towards the driver.
After a few moments, the road personnel asked P500 to the driver and he would not issue a violation ticket worth P1,000. The undercover cop handed a P500 marked money to the corrupt enforcer.
The police authorities arrested the corrupt enforcer after receiving the marked money during the transaction. Roberto is now facing a robbery extortion case because of his actions.
